Life Isn't About Having Fun

Life isn’t about having fun. Yeah, you read that right.

We persuaded ourselves that we were born to enjoy it. But why? Who the fuck told us this crap?

Our entire history has been one of struggle and overcoming. We became what we are because we fought for our survival. Nature has never handed us anything on a platter. The world has always been cruel, cold, and lacking, and no one questioned that.

And then we became entitled. We invented civilization with hot water, antibiotics, agriculture, and porn. We became soft.

We relaxed.

And that started destroying us.

There’s nothing wrong with occasionally enjoying life. There are good things to enjoy. But they were never meant to be abundant.

They were meant to be scarce. Sporadic. Fleeting. Not lying on a supermarket shelf, covered in sugar and fats and god knows what else to maximize that dopamine hit your brain will never recover from.

So I say again — life is not about fun. It’s about struggle, hardship, and finding one’s true purpose and following it no matter what.

And by the way, you will never find that purpose lying on the couch. You will have to roll up your sleeves and make quite a few mistakes until you find it.

Because that’s part of the struggle, see?

But I also bring good news. You’re stronger than you think you are. The only reason you’re not chasing your dreams is because you’re afraid of discomfort. Well, don’t. Embrace it. It’s as simple as that.

Wake up early. Work late. Face the challenges, even if they suck. Especially if they suck. Make mistakes. Fix those mistakes. Go back to square one and start all over again. It’s hard. But that’s life. Real life, not the one you see on TV.

And living it is the only way to find your purpose. The only way to know for sure you’re on the right path.

I don’t have a witty ending phrase this time. But fuck that.

You get the message.

Bye.
